Starting in January, every week for 5 weeks, I finished a new song. The Waiting is the last of the series. It originally aired on RAW impressions mini-music-monday February 6.
In February I had to move on. Literally, I had to leave my house. A family trip to California with solo and DInosaur Jr shows on the schedule beckoned. Letting go of my routine was bittersweet. I now consider song-a-week-January as a mythical time, my grasp of the details slipping into the mist. One thing is for certain, I wore my already-worn gear out. By the end, my vintage Tascam Port-One 4-track cassette recorder wasn’t quite recording. My beyond vintage Korg Bass Synthe synthesizer wasn’t holding pitch. A reorganization was in order and that is where I’m at now.
Like Beautifully Disguised (song #4 of the challenge) lyrically The Waiting is too close-to-the-bone. I don’t want to type it out. I feel bashful about them.
I did record another new song after The Waiting, a spontaneous, jokey song about our upcoming trips: Packing 2 Leave (aired February 15th on RAW impressions) Check it out..
