Hello and good day! Lou is currently on tour with Dinosaur Jr and I’m back home in Greenfield working the Barlow Family General Store and domestic responsibilities. Lou and I recorded our first remote podcast episode this week (he was in Toronto, me at home). This is new territory for us and we had a number of starts and stops but eventually got enough material for a full episode. A lot more editing was involved this week. Typically the episodes are very lightly edited. What you hear is pretty much what was said. It’s different in person, you can get a feel for when to speak and when to listen and chatting over the computer while recording left us fumbling a bit at first. My biggest complaint with this one is that I listened to it and heard myself saying “like” every other word! oh my! I shall work on it. Be kind.
We also had some friends as guests on recent episodes Ryan Jewell and Karl Hofstetter. Ryan was in town staying with us working with Lou on an exciting project we can’t tell you about quite yet. But soon probably! He’s an incredible talent, creative, kind and just an all around great guy. He is available for hire to add percussion to your next album. He also does private lessons. Here’s his website

and here’s the episode with him, check it out!
And then we got to visit with Karl in Indianapolis, a stop on the Barlow Family General Tour (featuring Lou solo). He’s the guy behind Joyful Noise Recordings, a badass record label. We’ve known Karl a long time and he’s a true Lou Barlow supporter putting out some of his solo work, as well as Sebadoh, and upcoming Folk Implosion. We recorded the episode at Joyful Noise headquarters. Please give it a listen and go visit their website to see all the other cool artists they are working with.

Thank you for listening and giving Lou and I all the support and love.

The latest podcast felt like I was listening in on a phone call between you two. The no-format, spontaneous chit-chat parts of your episodes are very endearing, and this one was like an entire episode full of that ❤️ I loved listening
