Hey y’all,
on this week’s MMM, inspired by Somewhere You Feel Free: The Making of Wildflowers , a recent-ish Tom Petty documentary I saw the other day on a plane, I cover his Hope You Never. I didn’t realize that song was part of the Wildflowers sessions! I’ve always adored the song and did a quick version of it while Tom was in my heart and thoughts. If he were here today he’d have written another dozen of my favorite songs and done countless episodes of his amazing satellite radio show: Buried Treasure. Tom clearly loved being a D.J. and his stories and song selections were wondrous and insightful. Honestly, his show was among the reasons that I decided to finally do a podcast. I’ve always wanted to be a D.J. too, and the joy he radiates on Buried Treasure was an inspiration.
