If It Makes You Happy/Hand In My Pocket
Lou's mash-up from RAW impressions mini-music-monday: Ladies in the 90s

As I was heartily congratulating myself for devising this collision of Sheryl Crow and Alanis Morrisette I realized something that I often realize: a working musician somewhere at some time must have done this before. Someone, likely in a shit-hot cover band, bridged these two massive hit songs and brought down the house at a wedding reception. As a player, I exist in a bubble where I’m congratulated for lightly grazing the public consciousness here and there by crudely playing songs I’ve learned by rote memorization. Musicians in cover bands learn every song ever and can play circles around a punk like me. Not only that, they might choreograph sets that last 4 hours and can switch key on a moment’s notice. So, yes Lou, that’s cute what you did, but did you include What If God Was One Of Us? No, you did not, but surely someone has. So, I just want to acknowledge that I did not reinvent the wheel, but I did have a very good time trying.
I’d like also take this opportunity to, possibly introduce y’all to the song that titled this week’s episode: Ladies In The 90s by Lauren Alaina.
This was a staple of car rides for young Izzy and I love it, semi-ironically, to this day, enjoy! -Lou
