I remember sitting at the kitchen table. We ate dinner together as a family every night. 5:30pm. I have a Mom and Dad. Two older brothers. When I revisit dinner table memories, I see myself sitting at the head of the table, with my back against the wall, under the print of the painting “Still Life with Lemons, Oranges and a Rose” by Francisco de Zurbarán. Yesterday I spoke with my Mom on the phone and she said, “No, you sat on the side. The table backed up against the wall under the print, no one sat there.” Huh. What is memory?
